Tourist Attractions
Our First tourist attraction is the Forbidden City located in Beijing China. This beautiful city became the capital of the Ming Dynasty under the rule of Chengzu and became a political landmark. The city is arranged like a set of boxes within boxes built on a north-south axis. The main outer walls were 40 feet high and nearly 15 miles around. The city itself is a wonder to behold with around 10,000 rooms to explore!
The second attraction is the Great Wall of China that extends 1,500 miles from northeastern Beijing to the Gansu province. In the eastern 500 miles, the wall averages about 35 feet high and 20 feet across, with lookout towers every half mile. Much of the way, the wall is faced with brick, which gives it an imposing appearance that impressed the first Westerners who saw it. It was built as a comprimise when Ming officials could agree on no other solution to the Mongol threat.
